Overview
Megaprepuce is a condition where the inner foreskin is excessively large, causing urine to become trapped and the penis to appear buried. It is distinct from simple phimosis.
Symptoms
- Ballooning of the foreskin during urination
- Dribbling of urine after voiding
- Recurrent infections
- Buried penis appearance
Treatment
Surgical Repair
Surgery involves removing the excess inner foreskin and reconstructing the penile skin to reveal the glans. This improves both function and appearance.
Recovery
Recovery typically takes a few weeks. A catheter may be used for a short time. The results are generally excellent, resolving urinary issues and improving hygiene.
